I completed a Speed Demon Challenge in subtraction up to 20.

I got all the answers correct and I finished in 5 minutes and 7 seconds. I like my time because it's my first time working harder. Next time I should get faster.

Hook

I learnt how to write an exciting introduction and suprising fact.

First, we watch a video about an introduction. Then we wrote down an exiting introduction about Mr Ogilvie. After writing down the introduction about Mr Ogilvie we wrote our exiting introductions.

Next, we wrote down an itroduction about chocolates. Did you know chocolate is made from dried seeds  that are fermented? They roast the seeds and heat them up. Then after they heat it up they add milk and sugar to add flavour.

After, we wrote down an itroduction about the life cycle of butterfly. Did you know that there are 20000 butterfly species? The three mechanism are about egguand about how will it take to grow. And one about how long will stay alive butterfly lays there eggs in a leave. It take 5-10 days, for it to become a butterfly. A butterfly will only saty alive for two to six weeks.

Last, we wrote down an indrotution about fireworks. Did you know that the largest ever fireworks display consisted of 810,904 fireworks? Fireworks work from burning small bits of metal by using a fuse so it can set off a charge. Fireworks were used in England at a royal wedding.

I enjoyed this activity because I like to write down an introduction.

SSR Selfie | Forest of Shadow

 I read the same book, I read 51 page about the Forest of Shadow.

It was about After a strange illness strikes a Arendelle, Anna discovers a secret room in the castle and says a magic spell hopping to cure the sickness. Instead, a sinister wolf arrives , threatening to destroy the peaceful kingdom, Ann, Elsa and their friends must embark on a thrilling quest to save Arendelle.

I really enjoyed this book becauseI really like how the author wrote down the story and it was instresting.

Did you know the three simple machines are used long time ago? The three similar simple machines are wheel and axle, pulley, and screw. Simple machines can help people do work easier.

I got all the answers correct. I finished in 6 minutes and 15 seconds. Next time I should get faster and do a harder level.

How to read a Calendar

Here is how you read a calendar.

Step 1, read the day.

Balancing

Today we learnt how to balance with using the equipement. 

First, we used a rugby ball by taking out one leg and pass the ball sidways  and trying not to fall or hopping around. This is was hard because my legs were tired and wriggling.

Next, we used a hockey by taking out one leg and the person who has the ball he needed to roll it softly and hit the ball softly. This is a easy because I already know how to hit the ball with the hockey stick.

Then, we used a frisbee by taking out one leg and throw the frisbee like the same way as the rugby ball and we need to throw it softly and try not throw it far away. This is hard because I can´t throw the frisbee properly.

After, we used a basketball by taking out one leg and we needed to dribble first then throw it to our partner. This is hard because I cannot bounce the ball on the ground properly. 

Last, we used a netball by taking out one leg and throw the ball from our chest. This is easy because we just need to throw the ball normaly.

I enjoyed this activity because balancing helps me trying not to wriggling and hop around.

Kitchen Items

Today we needed to find 10 items that belongs in a kitchen.

First, we learnt how to say up and down in a Maori language. To say up in a Maori is ¨runga¨ and to say down its ¨raro¨."Kei hea tei kuti kuti" means where is the scissors. ¨Kei runga i te puka puka¨ it means its on top of the book.

Next, we needed to make a poster with 10 items belonging to a kitchen, we needed to label them into Maori words.

I enjoyed this activity because I like how to make a poster that belongs in the kitchen.

Keywords List

Today I learnt about keywords by reading a text about The Maori Pioneer Battalion.

First, we need to choose who is the leader. The leader needs to give the roles and needs tell the group what to do.

Next, we need to choose who is the predictor. The predictor needs to predict something that happened.

Then, we need to choose who is the clarifier. The clarifier needs to ask the group what does the word means.

After, we need to choose who is the questioner. The questioner needs to ask questions about the text.

Last, we need to choose who is the summariser. The summariser needs to tell what is about the section he read.

I enjoyed this activity because I how the leader needs to swap roles to a diffrent person in this group.

The Life Cycle of a Butterfly

Today I learnt about the cycle of a butterfly by using cause, effect and casual language.

First we had to rearrange a mixed up explanation.

Next, I typed down the cause and effect sentence about the eggs in the first stage. 

Then, I typed down the cause and effect sentence about the caterpillar in the second stage. 

After, I typed down the cause and effect sentence about the chrysalis in the third stage. 

Last, I typed down the cause and effect sentence about the butterfly in the last stage. 

This is an easy activity because I already know cause and effect and it helped me understand.

Tipping Point

We learnt how to use tipping point by catching myself when I was falling. A tipping point is like when you're about to fall over and try to catch yourself by falling.

We revised of what we done before, it was balancing and tipping points. We played a game called Blocking Twister when we were using the blocks on the floor.

This activity was hard because I was struggling when I was struggling.

Passing

Today we learnt how to tell a person to pass something in maori language.

First we needed to revised what we learnt last week it was tenei, tena, and tera.

Next we learnt how to tell somoene to pass something on the left side in Maori sentence. Its "Hoatu te ... ki te taha maui", it means to pass something to the left.

This activity was a bit hard because I had to remember the maori words from last week.

 I read 28 pages.

The story was about Emily has lost control of her Amulet and is imprisoned in the Void, where she must find a way to escape the influence of the Voice. Meanwhile, Emily’s brother, Navin, travels to the Lighthouse One, a space station where the Resistance id preparing to battle the approaching Shadow forces that would drain planet Alledia of all its resources. Emily and Navin must be smarter and stronger than ever to ensure Alledia’s survival.

I really enjoyed this book because I like reading comics book.

Cause and Effect

Cause and effect can help people make there sentence make sense and make it correctly for an explanation.

Cause means that someone made it happen. Effect means that something happened by the cause. For an example: Mike's netbook was out of battery so he wrote all over on his desk.

Casual Language means are word that are together with cause and effect. For an example: The teacher was mad BECAUSE many students were talking too much.

Maths | Time Difference

Today I learnt about the time difference. A time difference is a clock between two or more different time zones.

First, I started subtracting 1 hour and 50 with 2 hour and 25 minutes.

Then, I put them together which it shows the total was 0 hours and 35 minutes.

I think I need a bit more practice because to know the time by myself.

Preposition

Today I learnt about prepositions.

The preposition I used is a picture next to me was tenei (here). The next preposition I used is a pen one meter away from me was tena (there). The last preposition I used is a book distance away from me was tera (over there).

I enjoy this activity because it helps me understand the preposition and helps learn.

Using Manners

Manners are used for people to say formal language.

Manners are including for saying good morning or good afternoon. For an example Good Morning, and say there name at the end of the sentence so they don't understand who are you talking too.

Manners are use for eye contact. Eye contact is important to directly talking to other person.

There are other formal language: Thank you, Your welcome, Please, May I go have a drink, and other formal language.

Using manners are always being respectful and always have eye contact and say someones name at the end of the sentence.

Problem Solving

Today we learnt about solving the problem.

First, we needed to work together to solve out the answer.

Next, we had to discuss how we solve out the problem.

Last, we discussed the result with Mr Ogilvie.

This easy because I already know the answer by making additions and subtractions.

Reading | Keyword List

All texts include a range of words to share information with the reader.

Keywords are sharing main ideas to other people and unlocking something

Keywords are used to a sentence to unlock information. For an example: Keywords Shirk - Lark - Reckonister. Reckonister means gathering information.

Keywords can also unlock vocabulary. For example Latrines are a toilet that used for camp.

Keywords is important and helps people gain information to make them understand.

HPE | Balancing

We did balanceing activitys in our envoirment, we took arange of photos. 

The first photo was balancing on a bench.

The second photo was balancing on the playground by using the equipement.

The third photo was balancing on a equipement by helping eac other.

The fourth photo was balancing on three groups of partners.

The fifth photo was balancing on four groups of partners.

The fifth photo was hard for me because my back and my hands were tired. I should practice balancing.

Maths l Basic Facts Boxes

I completed a Speed Demon Challenge up to 20.

I got 100 correct answers and I finished at 5 minutes and 45 seconds. I kind a bit like my time because I beat the my first time.

Next time I should complete my Speed Demon Challenge even more faster. The way to get fast will be to practice a bit more, and maybe Ill move to a quiter area or do it by myself so I can concerntrate.

Reading l SSR Selfie l Amulet

I read 23 pages in Amulet. The book was by Kazu Kibuishi

Writing l Explanation

I wrote an explanation planner about why we come to school.

First, I typed down an introduction. Schools help children to be confident and curious about the world. It helps your childhood to make better when they go to school and it helps.

Next, I typed down the main points. Learning requires you to get important skills to become smart, strong, and confident. This is knowledge acquired through study, and experience. Relationship requires the way in which two, more people, marriage, and friends, connect together. This can be like best friends playing together everyday. Being looked after requires that you take care of someone or something. That for some reason you can't live with your own family and are being looked after by us. 

After, I typed down my summary. School requires humans to think skills and discover new ways of relating to people from different cultures.

I learnt the structure of an explanation is TIMES.

Inquiry l Simple Machine

Simple machines are use for basic mechanical devices for applying a force to a machine with moving heavy metarials to work easier.

The six simples machines are:

HPE l Balance

Today Group A learned how to balance.

First Mr Ogilvie taught us how to balance. We had to use one leg and touch the floor or your toe. Then we  got into groups, two people needed to walk on the beam and had to go to the other team without touching the floor, if somebody touched the floor we needed to restart all over again.

After, we had to balance on a soccer ball, we got into three groups, one person needs to stand on the ball and two people need to hold them and then let them go.

The hard one is when we stand on the ball because I always fall off.

Maths l Times

 I comepleted a Maths actvity about Times.

First, I started looking at the hour hand first, which is the red, fat, and short. The hour hand shows which it was gone past 9.

Next, I looked at the minute hand, which is the blue, thin, and tall hand. The minute hand shows which it was gone past 10.

Last, I read the time and it was 9 to 10 (9:10).

I like doing this activity because it helps me know a lots facts about the time.

Maori Countries

Today I learnt some Maori question that helps in the classroom.

The first question that I learnt is Kua Marama. Kua Marama means Do you Understand. The next question that I learnt is Kua Mutu. Kua Mutu means Finshed.

Next time I should practice more saying the Maori question so I could remember them.
