Rap Lyric or Poetry Verse

This week I had to guess who is the author and decide the text if it's a Rap Lyric or a Poetry Verse for each day. I had to make my decision.

First, I did my first slide on Monday. The text was about they were in a battle like troops. I needed to find interesting words and type down the poetic devices. For an example: charging along like troops in a battle. All through the meadows the horses and cattle. This sentence is a rhythm. A rhythm has the same sound at the end of the word: Cattle and Battle. My decision is that the text is a rap lyric because in hip-hop slang, the bars refers to a rapper's lyrics.

Next, I did my next slide on Tuesday. The text was about a group of people used to rock the show in front of a real life crowd.  I needed to type down some interesting words and put in the meaning of the word. For an example: Notorious - Famous or well known, typically for some bad quality. My decision was a rap lyric because in hip-hop slang, the bars refers to a rapper's lyrics.

Then, I did my third slide on Wednesday. The text was about someone rapping at a door chamber. I needed to highlight the word or sentence and identify if it was Simile, Metaphors, Alliterations, Hyperbole, Personification, and Rhythm. For example:  Even though you're gone, we are still a team. This sentence is a hyperbole. A hyperbole is to  Exaggerating to show a strong feeling. My decision is that the text is a poem because it has phrases and keywords.

Last, I did my last slide on Thursday. The text was about that someone is working out somewhere in the gym. I needed to guess what the author was trying to make me feel. For example: The author is trying to make me feel that I'm working at the gym. My decision is that the text is a rap lyric because he made up words.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt stuff about rap lyrics and poetry verse.
